SPECIAL TEAMS COORD./OUTSIDE RECEIVERS: TODD SCHONHAR

Todd Schonhar returns for his fifth season with SFA and his fourth season as the outside receivers and special teams coordinator.

In three years in the spread offense, Schohnar has produced some of the program's top talent at the wideout position, and helped SFA become the nation's elite passing offense. Beginning with Dominique Edison's record-setting All-America campaign in 2008, Schonhar has produced record setters and All-Americans every season.

Following on the heels of Edison's record-setting career, Duane Brooks became the school's all-time leading receiver. A former SLC Newcomer of the Year, Brooks closed out his career earning All-America honors. Along with Brooks, Aaron Rhea recorded a career-year in 2009 earning all-conference recognition. Rhea signed a contract with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings following his four seasons in Nacogdoches.

The 2009 season was no different as Schohnar's troops produced two all-conference honorees, including first-team selection Cordell Roberson. A 2010 All-America selection, Roberson lead the nation with 16 touchdown receptions.

Schonhar has turned SFA's special teams into an asset on the field. Last season, SFA's special teams scored four touchdowns led by All-American return specialist Gralyn Crawford. Punter Drew Nelson also earned all-conference honors for a third consecutive season.

While at SFA, Schonhar has coached 11 All-SLC athletes, including four first-team selections, and one league newcomer of the year. Schonhar has also produced three All-America selections.

Schonhar spent two seasons serving as the Tarleton State offensive coordinator, where he helped guide the Texans to the 2006 LSC South Division Co-Championship. During his time in Stephenville, he coached 10 first-team All-LSC selections and two Offensive Back of the Year award winners.

No stranger to the SLC, Schonhar spent two seasons at Sam Houston State. While in Huntsville, he helped produce the school's all-time leading receiver.

Prior to joining the SLC, Schonhar spent seven seasons coaching running backs at Northern Illinois. Schonhar produced the Huskies' only consensus All-American in Leshon Johnson. A finalist for the 1993 Heisman and Doak Walker Award, Johnson spent time in the NFL. During his time in DeKalb, Ill., Schonhar produced two Doak Walker Award candidates and a league player of the year selection.

A veteran in the collegiate ranks, Schonhar has 18 years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I and II levels. He also has made coaching stops at Oklahoma and Clemson.

Schonhar is married to the former Julia Barton from Las Vegas, Nev.
