Hey when your leaguemates have hired Eddie Sutton.... K State is just "keeping up" with Huggins, no? :rotateh:

Who's next for the Big 12 - Calipari? :rotateh:

It'll be a whole conference of "Blue Chips"

Interesting move by K-State and Huggins - it'll be hard to win there, with KU down the road.

Well they built up their football program with a bunch of players with poor academics, JUCO transfers and mediocre scheduling. What else do you expect from K-State.

Too bad Larry Eustachy isn't still at ISU. Those three could play beer pong at halftimes.

I don't Bob Huggins is as terrible as some say. He only did what Cincy allowed him to do. I have to think the real reason he was let go by the Bearcats was the DUI's. Cincy knew the statistics as well as Huggins did. If you're winning with what you're doing and the school is fine with it, what incentive is there to change? K-State said they talked to people from the NCAA and those who they talked to supported K-State in hiring Huggins. I don't he's a saint for what he's done but DUI's unfortunately happen all the time to people. If K-State wants to run a clean ship i have to think Huggins will do the same.

Huggins - DUI
Sutton - DUI

Another unfortunate parallel. But I don't by the "he only did what Cincy allowed him to do" argument. If Billy Taylor coached at Cincy, I sincerely doubt he'd have a program filled with borderline characters. His tenure at Cincy gave them some very good teams, but the choices he made speak volumes to me.

Some programs have been run the same way despite the coach. Florida State comes to mind. JUCO's and players other schools won't take a chance on seem to always land on the seminoles bball team. Phil Martelli was on Comcast tonight and said the only real thing with Huggins is he's a "ruthless" recruiter. I really don't think Cincy's going to change the way the program is run, it's an inner city school much like Temple and they're going to take more chances on players then others. Time will tell though for both K-State and Cincy.

Wayne Morgan was no saint either. I still wonder how he got the Iowa State job, with mediocre seasons at Long Beach State.
