Adam Morrison. If JJ Redick was not at Duke, and had Dickie V sniffing his jock 24/7, he'd be an afterthought.

While I voted for Morrison, you are entirely off-base here. Anyone who averages 27 and change a game playing in the ACC is going to be a candidate for Player of the Year, especially when he's the leader of a team that has been number one in the country at different times during the season. I don't think there is any way J.J. Redick could be an afterthought with the numbers he has put up.

I agree, if anything Morrison's stats should be questioned against obviously a weaker conference

Reynoldo Balkman. I know his stats don't measure up to the others but I also don't think there's another player that adds as much to his teams performance as does Balkman. This kid gives everything he's got when he's on the court and makes things happen for the Gamecocks. My :twocents:

I understand where you are coming from, but this can be said about alot of players. Stats are the first and foremost thing in the minds of the voters. It is not a coincidence that the 2 leading candidates and 1 and 2 in the nation in scoring.

That was the dumbest post ever. Balkaman blows, and so do the Lamecocks.

Redick not worried about past failings in Sweet 16
ATLANTA (AP) -- J.J. Redick has a short memory.
The Duke star insisted he's not fretting about past failings in the NCAA's round of 16 -- and he's certainly paying no heed to those who say he runs out of steam when the calendar flips to March.
Redick had probably the worst game of his brilliant career against Kansas in the 2003 regional semifinals, managing just five points on 2-of-16 shooting -- including 1-of-11 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Last year, the Blue Devils went out at the same point of the tournament against Michigan State, which held Redick to 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting -- equaling his second-worst output of the season and nearly nine below his average.
Even in 2004, when Duke made it to the Final Four, Redick managed just 13 points against upstart Xavier in the regional final.

If I recall, Morrison had a horrible game a few nights ago. Was benched and had no points in the final 10 minutes of the game. He went 5-19. Can't base a players entire year on one game.

But Redick has choked EVERY year at the Sweet 16. The POY has to step it up in crunch time.

If Gonzaga wins tonight one would think Morrison will win POY. Redick has come up small in too many big situations.
