Iowa State will announce Northern Iowa's Greg McDermott as its next men's basketball coach at a news conference later today, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com Tuesday morning.



Too bad for UNI - hate to see the MVC lose quality coaches.

I think McDermott could have gotten a higher-profile job than Iowa State if he had waited.

Because they haven't already hired Majerus/Huggins/etc, Indiana is going to hire someone away from another program. Once they do that, I think there is going to be a lot of job shuffling...

Its a sad day for Panther fans. But, I think coach Ben Jacobson will keep UNI's program going strong.
