After starting last season with a 1-4 record, the Northwestern State University football team rallied to pull to a 5-5 record and played for the Southland Conference title, leading Stephen F. Austin 7-3 after the first quarter.
But the last three quarters proved too much for the Demons and a 36-13 loss ended any hopes that Northwestern State could participate in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
Now that the 2011 season is close, Demon head football coach Bradley Dale Peveto is again touring the state drumming up support for the Northwestern State football program as the Demon Victory Tour passed through Lafayette Thursday night.
