After the selection show, many believed the MVC was a hyped up conference that would fall flat on it's face when faced with the "big boys" in the BCS conferences.

Today, the Valley has proved otherwise

The sweet sixteen welcomes the Bradley Braves (BCS victims: Kansas and Pittsburgh) and the Wichita State Shockers (BCS victims: Tennessee and Seton Hall)

Now people realize that we didn't deserve four...we deserved at least five, if not six!

i'd hardly call a 4-2 record dominating, yes there doing very very good and i hope they keep it up a lil bit more but its hardly dominating, and yes i think they deserved more teams in.

The MVC is doing quite well considering they were "seeded" to go 1-4.

Should bode well for MVC in future years

Didn't Seton Hall recently drop football?

I don't think Seton Hall has had a football team for atleast the last 20 years. Maybe you're thinking of St. John's who dropped their team a few years ago.

Well, Ralph, I know it is your nature to be cynical, but give it a rest. It is common understanding that schools in the Big Ten, Big XII, Big East, Atlantic Coast, Southeastern, and Pacific-10 are known as BCS conferences reguardless of the sport being played. Thus, since Seton Hall is in the Big East it is known as a BCS school.

Also, I say dominating because not only are we 4-2 when expected to go 1-5, but look at the teams in our wake. Kansas, Tennessee, Pittsburgh...these are teams everyone was saying MVC teams could not beat.

Also, I wanna say congrats to the CAA with George Mason taking out Michigan State and North Carolina!

A lot of people had Winthrop beating Tennessee so the Shockers beating the Vols is not a suprise at all. In fact in the pool i'm in only 2 out of 15 people had the Vols getting past the second round. Bradley's win over Kansas and Pittsburgh is suprising but up until 2 weeks ago Kansas wasn't thought of too highly because of their inexperience. I would say the only real suprise was Bradley's win over Pittsburgh because of Pitts experience and toughness.

BCS is an acronym for the I-A Bowl Championship Series so I see no parallel with basketball. In fact all I-A conferences are BCS not just the original six. It's like calling them I-A basketball... incorrect. No biggie, just saying. I have never heard a basketball team referred to as BCS (not that I'd be listening anyway). :) Villanova and Georgetown are not BCS schools are they? They are in the Big East for basketball. See what I mean?

Villanova and Georgetown are the class of the I-AA football schools in basketball. Did the MVC have any football schools get past the 1st round?

The Big 10, Big 12, Big East, SEC, PAC-10 and Big East are considered the "power conferences" - both in football and basketball. Billy Packer disparaged any team not in those conferences. So beating teams from them is a big deal -- Great Job, MVC!!!
