View Full Version : CBS's Coverage SUCKS!!!!!

I get it. This is Tucson, home of the Arizona Wildcats. However, late in the UA-UW game, when it was obviously over, CBS refused to break coverage in Tucson and go to either NW St-Iowa or Bucknell-Arkansas, both of which were nail-biters!
It was so bad, that CBS stuck with coverage of the game for 3 or 4 minutes AFTER it ended, showing the usual video montage and Lute Olson walking off the court. They suddenly cut to the Iowa game for the last 5 seconds. I didn't even see the missed 3-pointer. All I saw was the ball bouncing around and then NW St. took that last shot that won!
Jeez CBS! Get a clue!

CBS said as much was there plans...
If your in a home team market, your "consistent" while if your in a market where no team is playing that has ties, your "flex" which means you'll bounce around...
They're going to show you the conclusion of tight games, but it's just really tough for CBS this go around...

All of the games in my area have been close, so haven't experienced this yet. But during the NC State/Cal game last night, they kept going to the UConn game during commercials and halftime

Funny you should mention that. My fiance and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch some of the later games yesterday. I did notice that the owner was not there, which was odd. He's usually around for big days like St. Patty's. We got there early, before the games, so we ordered a couple of beers and some wings. When the games started, I noticed that EVERY TV had the same game. I asked the manager on-duty if we could get some other games on. He apologized and explained that the owner had failed to order the package from DirectTV in time. I was polite, but upset. I told him, that had I known, I never would have come in, since we wanted to see more than one game. I also suggested that he put a sign up on the front door, lest he wanted dozens of angry customers later that night.
I think that explains the owner's absence however. He probably didn't want to face upset patrons.

It would be nice if other networks coverd the tournament as well. that way they wouldn't have to jump from game to game.

They suck because they want you to pay for the entire package.

Luckily, not for much longer as ESPN/abc takes over next year during the second half of the season!
