Normally I'm not a huge Dan Wetzel fan (though he did mention one of my letters in his Yahoo! column once), but I thought all you Southland conference fans ought to be made aware of some of these comments about Northwestern State in his "blog".

It starts of kind of amusing, when he talks about the Demons, but it (IMO) rapidly starts to become repetitive and piling it on. If Dan had said that about Lehigh, Bucknell or Colgate, I'd have been furious.

Thoughts?

That makes me a little irritated and I'm not even a fan of Nw St (well, I am because they are representing the SLC but other than that I'm not). That guy is a freaking ignorent idiot! :bang: xidiotx

For the record, Northwestern State is located in the Louisiana town of Natchitoches, which is Native American for "middle of freakin' nowhere."

Eh, to some extent. Not too far from Shreveport/Bossier City...

I sent him an e-mail. I was respectful, but let him know that insulting people and teams is not funny.

I'm not going to take Wetzel's side, but I have repsectfully disliked Northwestern State's name. The only Northwesterns I acknowledge:

Evanston's college
The one in Minnesota that played 2 football games in 1 day
The railroad

Why can't NSU be called Natchitoches State? That way, I'd learn to spell Natchitoches, and they would finally be able to leave the pseudo-Upper Midwest.

Northeast Louisiana became UL-Monroe...
Southwest Louisiana became UL-Lafayette
Southwest Texas became Texas St - San Marcos...

I guess Northeastern could become UL-Nachitoches...but that would just be awful as no one knows where it is and definitely can't spell it! Of course, not many have heard of Monroe, Lafayette or San Marcos! :read:

Just another drunken idiot tapping away at his laptop while he hangs out at a sports bar. The truely pathetic thing is that an even bigger idiot is paying this guy to do it.

Where's the University of Iowa located?

The same place where all the naughty boys and girls go after they die.
