Anyone watching?

I'm not really a soccer fan, but I'm beat from a long day working yesterday so I started watching. For some reason I can tolerate women's soccer more than men's soccer. Have to have a brewski with D96 to discuss that topic.

Anyway, after playing 60+ minutes a person down and after some dubious referring, the US tied the game 2-2 on a header in extra time during overtime.

USA!

At this point, I shouldn't be surprised when refs screw over the US in World Cups, but there you go

And they found a way. One of the better games I've ever seen, men or women. Well-deserved all the way around for the USA

On to France

Karma is a you-know-what...

Time for the US Davis Cup team to Wambach the Spainards!

Give the ref credit - she added the appropriate stoppage time necessary for the tying goal and called the same PK rekick on Brazil that she called on the US. And I know that they're teammates on magicJack, but it still was cathartic to see Solo and Wambach embrace post-game after the 2007 fiasco...

Or even the French...

I was referencing the US Davis Cup team... that was trailing 2-0 to Spain and ended up losing 3-1 today... :(

Hoping the US WNT can beat the French!

This game and the USMNT game against Algeria sum up in a nutshell why I love soccer so much.

This game was incredible. Almost as exciting as Donovan's goal against Algeria. Simply fantastic. Go USA!

That was a great game. I think I enjoy watching the Women play almost as much as the men.

I watched the Seattle/Portland MLS game as well. That has to be one of the most unique atmospheres in American sports. It's amazing how that fanbase is that crazy in just their first season.

Well it isn't Portland's first season overall...just in the MLS. They had played at a lower league level in prior years...so the fan base is pretty established. They love their soccer in the northwest!

Might have made me hate soccer more. I was up cleaning around the house some and had it on because nothing else was on.

So pissed at the foul/red card/pk save recall that I wanted someone to just give up and take down the ref.

Then the Brazil player that ran for 10yds after getting touched, laid down in front of the goal, carried off, then got off before they set her down and ran back on the field. I'd like to punch her in the baby makers.

Actually turned it to baseball at about the 120 mark, saw score and flipped back over to catch the final 3 PKs.

Oh and when they made taking off clothes a penalty after the '99 game, it ruined watching women's soccer, as if it wasn't bad enough already.

There's just something fun about the anticipation of a shirt flying off that you can't replicate on Playboy. As soon as she scores it's like "uuuuuhhhhhhhh, here it goes!!!!! Wait for it!!!!! She's gonna pull her shirt off any second!!!!!!!! There it goes!!!!"

Not as breathtaking as the Men's video put together last year and clearly some of that looked staged but some of it didn't and very cool to see
