Hmm... someone either did not do their research before they made such a statement... or the McNeese facility instead of being over 8000, may push 9000?

“It's over 8,000 square feet,” he added, noting that it is the largest among schools in the Southland Conference and could be the largest among members in the FCS.
SAM HOUSTON STATE
Sam Houston State's 11,000-square foot Ron Randleman Strength and Fitness Center opened in the fall of 2006.
One of the finest intercollegiate strength and fitness centers in the Southwest, the facility consists of coaches' offices, men's and women's dressing rooms, and a 9,000 square foot area for weights. The center is used by all 16 Bearkat intercollegiate athletic teams.

If I am reading correctly on the Sam Houston State facility, the total facility is 11,000 of which 9,000 is the weight room. That only leaves 2,000 square feet for "coaches offices and men's and women's dressing rooms." That seems kinda small to fit all of that.

The SHSU Strength and Conditioning complex is adjacent to the Field House, which includes locker facilities for football and a few other sports - in addition to office space. So... is the McNeese facility the biggest in the SLC? Does not seem that way, but glad that there are schools in the SLC anteing up for facilities.

I don't care who has the biggest. I've been inside the room during construction and have seen the drawings of what it will look like completed with all the weight stations installed. It will be impressive.
Can't wait for the July 30th tour.

xthumbsupx That looks great Cowboys. Maybe next year I'll get to make the trip down there to check it out!
I'm not sure on the dimensions of UCA's new weight facility (due for completion this fall) but looking at the pictures below, the indoor field facility is probably 60+ yards long and it looks like the new weight facility may be 15 yards wide..not sure. With my math that makes the new facility (remember this is UCA math xlolx) 8100 sq. feet. My numbers may be waaaay off but i'm just using the visual in the pics) I'm sure not all of that is weight lifting area, but a vast improvement for the teams anyway. xlolx

Yeah I wasn't trying to knock your new one, didn't mean to imply that.
I'm so pumped about the home and home series, these three schools were able to work out. Can't wait for it to start! Nice weight room too!

I love the fact that the TVs on the wall can reflect in the carpeting (bottom right hand side)! I know it gets hot in LC, but don't go and make your weight room floor out of ice! xlolx

Hmmm! I'll be in town Friday for a early Dr's appointment. I need to go by there with my camera and find Zeb. Maybe with a little arm twisting, he'll let me go in and take a few pictures. ;)

Below is a video of just some of the new FieldHouse that is almost completed. Doesn't show all the meeting rooms, administrative offices, the student academic area, etc. Mostly the ticket office, some of the weight room, some of the locker room, some of the equipment room, Coach Viator's office, and the club seating area ont the second floor overlooking the field.

WOW!
I'm getting a bit nervous about the outside of it being totally ready by the home opener.
Might have to go without the landscaping for the first home game.
I hope the new iron gates and fencing will be up and ready.

Last Friday, when I went by, they were working on the gate areas. If I remember right they were woking on the big columns that will hold the iron fencing and gates up.
