HC Scot Dapp, of Boyertown (PA) HS, resigned after 24 years as HC of the Moravian Greyhounds. The winningest coach in Moravain history with a record of 144-107 including several post season NCAA appearances, he will become the AD; a position that suddenly became vacant when the current AD resigned for a similar position at McDaniel College. Dapp is the NCAA Chairman of the football rules committee for this year, so his resignation may require that to change. A most respected coach, mentor and leader it will be interesting to see how the program will move forward as the new HC will his longtime assistant, who is a Lehigh Valley native.

I know a few former Moravian players. They seem to really respect Dapp, and had a good experience playing for the Hounds.

Yes. I actually played against Scot back in the late 1960's. A short QB who couldn't pass more than 30 yards...yet led his high school team to the Ches-Mont Champship. He has always been a 'glass half-full' type of guy and a leader. I thought for years, he'd 'move on' up the coaching ladder; and I know he had some offers, but liked where he was and the ability to really coach and connect with his players. I know he wasn't just ready to make this move (his 25th season would have been this coming fall), but the opportunity to be AD was now, and if he wanted it, he had to make the move now. His offensive line coach came over to Lehigh for the past two years, after having also played for Scot, and was equally positive about him.
