What incoming freshmen do expect to emerge as a major player for your team???

Deangelo Henderson a running back out of Summerville was considered to be the best back in the state of South Carolina this year! He had 2,407 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns his senior year.

Willie Tucker

Cal Poly is weak at wide receiver this year and need Tucker to make an immediate impact. Willie Tucker is a wide receiver from Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills, CA. Tucker is 6'3" and 200 lbs. His senior season he had 55 receptions for 1,257 receiving yards (114.3 per game) and 14 TDs. Helped his team go 7-4 against some of the best competition in the greater Sacramento area.

Dude EVERYONE knows the BEST talent in the Sacramento area is on the Sacramento SIRENS.

Assuming we can count redshirt Freshmen, App will have a few of them on the 2-deep for the Offensive Line one on penciled as a starter on the Defensive Line.

Kendall Lamm (6-6, 280) - Redshirt freshman who played his high school ball at North Carolina state champion Butler High in Charlotte, fighting for the starting left tackle spot with Senior Orry Frye
Graham Fisher (6-2, 270) & Shaquille Counts (6-2, 275) - Counts is a true freshman and Fisher a redshirt freshman; both will likely end up as the top 2 on the depth chart at the Center position. Fisher is from Waynesville, NC and Counts from Irmo, SC. Fisher was a 2-star prospect and Shrine Bowl participant for North Carolina whose footwork and work ethic has drawn great reviews from the coaches thus far. From everything I've read, it is his job to lose
Dylan Bostick (6-6, 280) - I saw him listed as a Sophomore, but I could have sworn he redshirted last year, because he definitely didn't see the field. Any ASU fans, correct me if I'm wrong. A 2-star prospect who came to ASU last year from Neptune, FL. He has ideal size and athleticism; his footwork and hands seems to be the only thing keeping him from being an unquestioned anchor on the O-line.

William Corbin (6-6, 300) - Redshirt freshman from Dunn, NC. Seems to be nearly locked into the starting spot on the edge in the new 3-4 scheme. Very strong with average to slightly above average quickness for his size. Playing on the line with senior DT Dan Wylie (6-1, 305) and senior DE Gordon Witte (6-6, 315), the coaches have high hopes that ASU can have one of the bigger, more athletic defensive lines in the country.

Outside of the trenches, not too many (if any) freshman will see significant time on the field this year in Boone unless somebody really surprises the coaches this summer. One true freshman who has an outside shot to get on the field is WR Sean Price. He is 6-5, 200 out of South Lake HS in Reston, VA. Has good top-end speed yet not overly quick off the line, but his size could make him an ideal possession receiver at this point in his career if he sharpens his route running. I am hoping he comes on strong so that ASU can use our smaller, shifty receivers (Jamill Lott and Andrew Peacock) as open-field playmakers in the slot. Playing alongside Brian Quick would give us 2 receivers that stand 6-5 and would be a match-up nightmare for most FCS defenses.

I think the impact player, in a very good recruiting class for Samford this year, might be RB Jeremiaha Gates. Gates is a **Star Rivals player. Scouts calls him "one of the best kept secrets in the state of Florida." He "only" scored FIVE TDs in leading his school to victory in the state championship game. A 5-10 210 lb runner who can run over you, around you, or simply outrun you, Gates probably has way too much talent to RS his Fr. year. I realize the highlights show only the best, but you can look at this video and just tell that Gates has the lean, power, and speed to be a very special player.

Not as big of need as WR and Willie Tucker, but I think that Chris Fletcher will see time in the defensive backfield.

Chris Fletchers highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKpgf3u5d9U

As for Rfr I expect to see DT Chris Lawerence and WR Lance Castaneda to make an impact.

Its pretty rare for freshmen to come right in and play for Liberty (there were some on defense last year because there was a need) but of the guys coming in, the one I could see possibly getting a spot and making an impact when practice kicks off in August is a local product, Grant Jones. He was an all state lineman, winner of the 2010 Titan Trophy (for outstanding football player in the area...which had never been given to an offensive lineman if memory serves me correctly) and was recruited by Duke and Stanford among others before he decided to go with his hometown college (which shows that not only can he get it done on the field, but he can get it done in the classroom too).

Since we return so much, we're not really looking for freshmen to do much. However, if Prince McJunkin doesn't redshirt, he has the raw talent to break some big plays.

For GSU, Xavier Sharpe. Could be better than Robert Brown this year. More speed, bigger at the same stage. On defense, I wouldn't be surprised if both Riyadh Jones at corner and Eric Worthern at MLB start. We are straight loaded.

Dude, you see Fletcher's highlights - I'll pay money to watch him run back any interception - sure he shouldn't be on the offensive side?! Willie Tucker has good size, great hands (cradles with both, can catch with one), hard to bring down - can he dance, and is he a "real track guy" as they say? What's his 40 time, he DOES look good. Davis Sacto-nians let him get away, or what, great GPA -- man don't we love that California coast! Maybe Lance this year too - can't wait to see the "Bookends" Cast and Tuck, or maybe "Tuck and Cast-y" (apologies to the T & Patti music fans) 3-4 years from now?! 'Bookends' baby! (But does require a few pass plays, you know.) xbowx xthumbsupx

Incoming freshmen with the best chance to contribute for W&M are three wide receivers. With Ryan Moody recovering from injury, the position is the lone thin area for the team, and these three will likely get a good shot to play immediately.

- Tre McBride 6' 184 from Ola H.S. in Atlanta.
- Anthony Johnson 6'2" 180 from Mountain View H.S. in Fredericksburg, VA.
- Troy Scharfen 6'2" 185 from Langley H.S. in Fairfax, VA.

Because of their talent level, and physical maturity, these three guys may be tough to keep off the field.

- DT Jared Templeton 6'4" 286 from Tyrone H.S. in PA.
- DE Jasper Coleman 6'4" 271 from James River H.S. in Richmond.
- Safety Jared Velasquez 6'1" 190 from Robinson H.S. in Fairfax, VA.

Possibly the r-freshman QB transfer from Maryland, Tyler Smith:

HS Stats: 8,035 yards passing, 87 TDs
#8 QB in the country by Scouts, Inc
#16 Dual Threat QB in the country by rivals
#18 QB in the country by rivals

Add DB Miles Williams (6'1, 185) to that list. His stats as a senior: Tallied 100 total tackles, a forced fumbe, broke up six passes and has looked really good on tape. He was also named a first-team all-area player and an all-region honoree. DB Jerrell Armstrong (5'9, 160) could make a difference on special teams too. He was selected to the Shrine Bowl, ran a 4.23 in the 40 and returned three punts for touchdowns last year.

As far as true freshmen, Southeastern Louisiana has several incoming who potentially could make an immediate impact...but a few stand out, mainly due to opportunity at their positions.

Jonathan Kinchen (6-3, 280, Ponchatoula HS, LA) has the size, strength, and motor to step in and make a big contribution at defensive tackle...runs a sub 4.9 40, squats close to 700 lbs and is a two-time 5A state champion in the discus, ranking in the top 40 nationally, with a throw of 184-6...should factor prominently in our d-line rotation...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BYVHJCvIPg

A darkhorse sleeper who didn't get a lot of hype in our class is P.J. Kopesky (5-11, 200, Spring HS, Spring, TX)...a great athlete with good size and very good speed, will add quality depth at the SS position where we have to replace Tommy Connors and Curtis Strong...played on both sides of the ball in HS (QB on offense), and was also an accomplished hurdler in track and field...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx_JzBSn2SM

In the same mold as Kopesky is Damarion "TJ" Jackson (6-1, 210, Hendrickson HS, Pflugerville, TX)...another two-way guy who also played QB, should bring us size and athleticism to the safety position...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5rCiU2xnLM

We have three incoming WRs who have the ability to make an impact in normal years, but we have a lot of experienced depth returning and will hopefully be able to redshirt those guys.

On Defense

DL: #93 MIKE JONES 6-2; 265 (Fr.) Sugar Land, Texas (Kempner)

The Jacks are thin on the defensive line when it comes to returning players with experience. Mike should have plenty of opportunity to make an impact as a freshman up front.

- A Three Star recruit according to Rivals.com
- 2010 Pigskin.com Class 13-5A First Team All-District

Boise State

Kansas State
Missouri

The Jacks will be looking to retool at linebacker with the departure of Jabara Williams and this being the final season for seniors Choice and Ducote. Young could see a lot of playing time on defense and make an impact at the LB position.

Montana Grizzlies

These are the only 3 that I think can make an impact as true freshmen.

DT- Jesse Ginn 6'5" 295 - Great work ethic and motor, his size and athletic ability will make it VERY hard not to be on the field some this year.
http://missoulian.com/college/griz/article_7b2d43f8-947c-11e0-9aaa-001cc4c03286.html

S - Connor Lebsock 6'2 200 - Very smart and instinctual player will really push our returning safetys for playing time, I have seen this kid play many times he is a play maker. The Griz dont need much help at this position but I think he will get some playing time hes too good to keep off the field.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96jyLTC28ao&feature=player_embedded

S - Matt Hermanson 6'1" 190 South Dakota player of the year and as one Griz coach put it, "hes as good as Lebsock maybe better" another instinctual player who is always where the ball is at. Maybe a step faster than Lebsock.

The returning veterans are not the only off-season focus for the South Carolina State football team.
Since the Feb. 2 national signing day, head coach Oliver "Buddy" Pough has discussed the possibility of incoming freshmen having prominent roles early in their Bulldog careers. This was especially true with the offensive line, where S.C. State heavily addressed depth issues following the graduation of three starters.
When the Bulldogs open their official preseason camp in August, it appears at least five offensive linemen have put themselves in position to get a good look. The T&D has learned they, along with 11 fellow freshmen, have met all eligibility requirements out of the 23 signed and would be available for action next season if they are not redshirted.

The six offensive linemen include Shrine Bowlers Jairon Harrison (6-3, 310) of James Island, Devin Flowers (6-3, 300) of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, North-South All-Star tackles Avery Grant (6-2, 310) of Mullins and Raheim Barr (6-3, 270) of Lamar and Georgia natives Gideon Scott (6-3, 310), formerly of Louisburg College in Johnsboro, and Charles Henderson (6-3, 265) of Kennesaw Mountain.
"That's the group we've worked on to bring in," Pough said. "We want to see if they can help us early."
Also eligible were running backs Jalen "Scoop" Simmons (5-8, 200) of West Charlotte, Dondre Lewis-Freeman (5-8, 180) of Hopewell High School in Charlotte, defensive ends Andrew Carter (6-1, 230) of Richmond High School in Hamlet, N.C. and Alex Glover (6-1, 210) of Mallard Creek, defensive backs Mariel Cooper (5-11, 170) of Sumter and Dominique Mitchell (5-8, 180) out of Miramar, Fla., tight end Temmarick Hemingway (6-4, 210) of North Myrtle Beach and athletes Julius Pendergrass (5-9, 170) of Chester, Tevin Richard (6-0, 180) of Carver's Bay and Austin Smith (6-1, 190) of Mount Zion in Rex, Ga.
Reportedly eight of the nine players are close to receiving approval from the NCAA clearinghouse. According to Pough, the number of early eligibles this year is among the highest in his tenure.

I have to add one more. Now on the offensive end we have a all-american and possible NFL draft pick in David Duran at TE but this kid looks amazing on film and I don't know how to FBS schools didn't jump on this guy. Thomas Pauciello out of Connecticut looks to be a player and at 6'6 225 pounds as a freshman the sky is the limit for him. I expect him to have an impact sooner then later.
