Benched 440 lb.--great work for a 5-10 safety. (But his dad benched 67 lb. more.)

That's awesome. I've been to a few of those competitions before with my wife and it's truly impressive, her best is 195.

Man that's really impressive.

@ my peak, I could bench no more than 360lbs @ 5' 11.5" and 205lbs and right now, I'm probably ~320-335lbs (benched 315 a few weeks ago and hurt my elbow so I think I'm done for a while lol) @ 5' 11.5" and 238lbs. My eldest son is 6' 5.5" 255lbs and I've seen him throw up and rep 380lbs w/ ease, even w/ those long arms. I'd emphased over the years to him and even my next up and coming that REAL strength comes in the bench first and foremost whenever you have to either push someone albeit football/basketball or capture and reel someone in (fball). It seemed to work for him @ the next level. Or, whenever one wants to dish out a one hitta' quitta' to knock a mf'er out lol, one needs to be assured when one out-strengths the adversary w/ one punch to the bridge of the nose lololololololololololol. :D
