Lafayette BBall fans... nervous yet?

According to the Philly papers, Temple's coaching search will be pretty wide, but all signs are pointing to Fran Dunphy as the leading candidate. Remember, he recruited full scholarship players at LaSalle for Speedy Morris before getting the Penn job.

Personally, my opinion of Dunphy took a nose-dive two years ago when LaSalle persued him and he left them hanging. According to news reports at the time, he never gave them a yes or a no, and they were forced to give up waiting. Not cool!

Anyway, if Dunphy is offered, and accepts the Temple gig, I'm guessing Penn's leading candidate would be Lafayette's Fran O'Hanlan. Thoughts?

I was thinking about this yesterday and I would have felt much more concerned if Lafayette rejected schollies and Fran did not sign that ten-year deal. He could take the job out of mere spite, but I don't think he'd do that. The Penn job is highly visible and there are likely to be a lot of highly qualified candidates in addition to O'Hanlon. Bottom line, I don't think the Pards have much to worry about, but it's something to keep an eye on.
