Cundiff to be named new Strength and Conditioning coach

Texas State head coach Dennis Franchione wasted little time in finding a replacement for Ben Pollard who has resigned from his job at Texas State for personal reasons.

Blake Cundiff will be named the new strength and conditioning coach at Texas State.

Cundiff joins the Bobcat program after being Head strength and conditioning coach at the University of Albany for the past three seasons in charge of the football and basketball programs.

Cundiff also served as associate director of strength and conditioning at the University of Minnesota from 2005-07. He implemented and maintained the Big Ten Conference school’s individual and team strength and flexibility programs and coordinated speed training and conditioning in the off-season.

From 1997-2000, Cundiff was assistant strength and conditioning coach for the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys. Dallas advanced to the NFL playoffs twice during his tenure.

Cundiff worked at the University of North Texas from 1993-97 as assistant strength coach.

He also had a two-year stint with Grapevine Mustang Football as head strength coach.
