I love how people saw BC play two games this year (the ACC semis and finals) and all of the sudden they are a Final Four team. BC is a good team, but they are tired and have a lot of traveling to do in the NCAAs. Watch them lose to Nevada in the second round.

this could very well happen, but Fazekas can't hold down BC's front line. I see them losing against Nova in the Elite 8. They struggled with teams that are athletic, and Nova def. is

You mean lose to MONTANA in the second round.

Agreed, but BC would lose to us in the Sweet 16. :D

Nova, you are a great team. I just don't think you have the size to stop BCs big men.

We beat those big men just last year, and we have beaten better frontcourts than BC's this year (UCONN, Oklahoma, Georgetown).
BC's only scoring threat in the post, Craig Smith, is 6'7". Everyone thinks that since we start four guards we'll get killed inside. The truth is that we out-rebound our opponents on the season and that we are good defensively inside.

agreed, UConn has the best frontcourt in the nation, no argument necessary, and Nova beat them, so an undersized yet bulky Craig Smith is not an issue. If anything, Dudley is the matchup problem b/c he plays the 2/3 and is a big guard

I agree with that. Players like Dudley, who Curtis Sumpter covered in the past, are our biggest matchup problem. This Marcus Williams frosh from Arizona appears to be in the mold, which is the only reason I'd rather face Wisconsin in round 2.

What's the inside scoop on Allan Ray? I know he's cleared to play...but is he 100% good to go? Do you think he'll be ready to go by round 2 (they won't need him in round 1)?

I been watching BC play a lot longer then the last 2 games of the ACC tourney. Sure they lost to Duke, but only by 2, and they barely lost earlier this year against Duke, and they beat UNC twice in N Carolina.
BC is going to surprise a lot of people, including the over confident Villanova fans.

BC is definitely a great team, I've watched them a few times this year. But I don't think that Villanova will be overlooking them in any way...they come from a tough conference themselves and are more than battle-tested...that will be the best game to watch in the sweet 16, IMO.

Ray was cleared for all activities yesterday, practiced today, and will play on Friday. I just hope he is all right mentally - it might be tough to fling yourself after loose balls right away coming off that.
UNH - Villanova knows BC better than any non-conference team in the country. We won't be taking them for granted, but we should beat them on a neutral court. I personally feel like BC (and Syracuse) gave their all in their conference tourney and will flame out early in the NCAAs. Hinnant will have to keep having big games, because BC is otherwise very thin at the guard spots.

The size arguement to beating Nova does not stnad up. They ahve been beating teams with size all year, i.e. Gtown, UConn, and someone said Oklahoma. I think the key to beating Nova is keeping them off-balance and mixing-up the offense a bit. WVU I think did this, but I could out in left-field here.
BC-Nova has my stymied rite now...

I am pulling for 'Nova just to tick off the UD fans ( Does it count in Bball)?
UConn pulls themselves up by the bootstraps and takes it all.

I have three number one seeds in the Final Four, which goes against past brackets (seems there's usually two). I had BC beating Nova, but I changed my mind. I know BC played well in the ACC tournament, but if Nova shoots well like UVA did when we played BC, they will kill BC. I mean, UVA is middle of the ACC-pack, not that great, and we smoked BC. Without some free throws at the end because of some dumb UVA fouls, we might've won by 20. If BC doesn't shoot that well and their opponent shoots well, BC loses, which is what will happen when the Eagles meet Nova in the Sweet 16. I don't see Nevada topping them however.

I'm pulling for 'Nova. My "darkhorse" (not really a darkhorse) is UNC. They are very young, but extremely talented, athletic, and can run with anyone. Plus, I think they match up very well with the teams on their side of the bracket. I honestly believe the only real landmine the Heels face before a possible matchup with UConn or maybe Illinois is Michigan State. :twocents:

I just went with Nevada downing BC... it's in Salt Lake.. like a home game... and whenever I've picked BC to win rounds they choke. I looked at BC's schedule and they essentially played nobody down the stretch except that win over UNC. So, Nova over Nevada. :)

Me too. This was a while ago but I have been a 'Nova basketball fan since Rollie brought his team to the old brown box in G'ville. Had a brief but very nice conversation with him before the game in the lobby of the Hyatt.
