He had another great night tonight hitting a key 3 that brought the 'Cuse to within 1 and then had the game winning assist. A lot has been said about G-Mac and whether or not he's over-rated, the last 3 nights i think have shown he might not be a great shooter or have great quickness but he's one of the best fighters in college hoops. He reminds me a lot of a Steve Wojo or Bobby Hurley, not gifted with great athletic talent but have the biggist ticker on the court. I feel fortunate to be able to say i had the privelege to play against G-Mac back in high school.

jeesh i gotta re-read my posts, i use the edit featue way too much...

I don't think Boeheim was off-base; without McNamara, the 'Cuse might not have won ten games. He's made so many great plays in the Big East tournament, and while I don't think he was a great shooter during the regular season, he's really stepped it up in the tournament. I think his regular season numbers suffered because he felt he had to do more to help them win, leading to him taking more bad shots, which lowered his field goal percentage.

As a side note, 'Nova is getting hammered by Pitt. 'Nova lost one of their best players Allen Ray to what some people are saying is a very very serious eye injury. His eye appeared like it popped out of the socket. Should 'Nova lose by double digits and Ray is unable to play in the tourney there's a good chance 'Nova will fall to a #2 seed, call it the Kenyon Martin rule.

McNamara has almost a cult following. Last week 75 BUSES from Scranton travelled to Syracuse for his last home game--over 3,000 making the trip to cheer for a high school kid who is 4 years removed. Amazing.

I was one of those Scrantonians to go up to the game last week. However, i've been goin up to Syracuse for games for a while. My first trip up 81 was in 1997, the last time they didn't make the tourney, they did reach the NCAA title game the year before though. In high school me and my buddy's would go to 2 or 3 games a year, since i went to college i've only gotten to a game a year.

I'm glad he is getting his due. To call him "overrated" is really off base. The guy is a flat-out warrior.

Smart move by Boeheim last night to slow the game down at the end. His guys had no gas left in the tank....something obvious to me, but somehow not noted by the announcers... even when Gerry sailed that 3 point airball near the end. Coach quickly called a timeout and told his guys to use the clock and run a play with 10 seconds left..and they followed his instructions to perfection on every ensuing trip.
