SAMFORD
Zeke Walters TE 6-4 240lbs
Briarwood Christian HS Bham AL
Soph- Transfer From USM
Samford doesn't get many xfers, but this could be a really good one. Walters played in every game for Southern Miss as a true Fr. last season and caught a TD pass against Louisville in the Eagles' bowl game. He was good enough to be named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team. Coming out of HS, he was a Rivals ***Star Player, and was rated the 2nd best in the state of AL. ESPN named Walters one of the 40 best TEs in the nation. His brother Bo was a recent LB for Miss State. Zeke went through spring training at Samford, and showed what he could do - VERY impressive. Samford's new OC will NOT let TE be an invisible position as it has been in the past. Samford has a player here who just might be all-conference this season.
