Put this in 'Other Sports' - though I guess it is tied to the whole Villanova thing, but this came up on a BYU blog (http://deepshadesofblue.com/big-names-lining-up-to-face-cougars/)..
"In recent days a rumor has also surfaced regarding BYU potentially joining the Big East Conference. Deep Shades of Blue has learned that the conference did indeed contact BYU about becoming a football-only member, but that the proposal was turned down by the BYU administration."
And local Houston sports radio personality Charlie Pallillo of 790 AM apparently stated that BYU turned down the Big East and that the league is going to choose between UCF and Houston.
Seems like it is a load of crock - but college realignment is fun to discuss... xbangx
