Whether you like him or not... Gus Johnson is becoming more of a name in the world of broadcasting. Will be a shame if he is no longer doing the NFL - which I presume would be the case if he was doing the big football games for the Pac-10.

Gus Johnson, a veteran play-by-play announcer most famous for his passionate calls of March Madness college basketball games on CBS, may soon have another job.

Two people familiar with the negotiations but not authorized to speak publicly said Johnson and CBS were unable to agree on a new contract and that he now is in discussions with Fox. One of the sources said Johnson is discussing "a significant role" in Fox's college football coverage, which has recently been expanded with the Pac-12 and Big 12.

On Wednesday, Fox and ESPN announced a new 12-year contract with the soon-to-be Pacific 12 Conference. It includes an expanded number of football games and carries the expectation that the Pac-12 will have its own network similar to what the Big Ten has.
