The lights of the FGCU soccer field light up Wednesday and Thursday nights for dozens of games of flag football played by students and staff of FGCU and Edison Community College. The popularity of the sport has exploded in the last two years with hundreds of teams participating in the year-round sport.
Local football fans are going to have to put dreams of a hometown Division I college team on hold.
