Murray State Football Announces 2011 Schedule

A national television appearance in the season opener at Louisville highlights the 2011 Murray State football schedule that was released Wednesday.
The Racers will open the season against the Cardinals on ESPNU on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. central time. It marks the second time in the last five seasons that MSU will open the season on national television against UofL.
MSU will also play its second game of the season on the road, as the Racers travel to face Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 10. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and marks the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
The home opener and Ohio Valley Conference opener comes the next week as the Racers play host to Tennessee State on Sept. 17. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Stewart Stadium, and will be part of Family Weekend.
The Racers return to Thursday night action Sept. 22 as they travel to face UT Martin at 6 p.m. The Racers return to 'The Track' on Oct. 1 as they welcome Jacksonville State for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
MSU plays its final non-conference game of the season as they travel to the Georgia Dome to face Georgia State on Oct. 8. Game time is to be determined.
The Racers return home on Oct. 15 as they welcome Eastern Illinois to 'The Track' for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
Following their open week, the Racers remain at home to take on Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels are the only team to defeat the Racers over the final six weeks of last season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
The Racers play two of their final three games of the season on the road as they travel to face Tennessee Tech on Nov. 5, before hosting Austin Peay for Senior Day on Nov. 11. The regular-season finale will be at defending champion Southeast Missouri on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.
The FCS Playoffs are set to get underway on Nov. 26, with opponents and locations to be determined.
