Linebackers R.C. Kilgore and Erich Feller returned first-half interceptions for touchdowns, lifting the defense to a 79-29 victory in South Dakota State's annual spring football game Saturday afternoon at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium. Using a scoring system that rewards the offensive and defensive units for big plays and sustained drives, the Jackrabbit defense came out on top for the fourth year in a row by recording seven sacks, causing five turnovers and forcing nine three-and-out drives. Kilgore tipped and intercepted a Jordan Thomas pass on the third offensive series of the game and returned it 43 yards to paydirt to give the defense an early 13-0 lead. Three series later, Feller stepped in front of a Thomas O'Brien attempt and rambled 52 yards for a touchdown, giving the defense a 30-0 lead.
