Thought this would be interesting. Which school in your conference has the most conference titles at this point? I know most conferences do some sort of 'All-Sports Championship' to see who has the best overall athletic program within your conference...

In the Southland...
We have SFA with five (MXC, WSoccer, VB, Mens and Womens Indoor T&F). SFA also was second in WXC.

They lead the Commish Cup standings through nine sports with 86 points. SHSU, the defending co-Commish Cup champion is second at 75 and the other defending co-Commish Cup champion Texas St-San Marcos is third at 61.5 with Northwestern State in fourth at 58 points.

Coastal is currently leading the Big South in the Sasser Cup race.

Our tennis teams are doing great, our track and field should do well in addition to our golf team. The 2nd place finish for men's basketball should help and our women just earned the 3 seed - but Liberty is expected to roll. Our baseball and softball teams aren't doing too hot right now so that may hurt.

NAU has 4 titles so far this year (Men's and Women's Cross-Country, Men's Basketball, and Women's Indoor Track.

Idaho State has two titles (Women's Basketball and Men's Indoor Track)

Eastern Washington (Football), Weber State (Women's Soccer), and Sacramento State (Volleyball) have one each.

Montana, Montana State and Portland State have zero titles thus far.

Yup - we shall see. On paper, it looks like Montana has a much tougher game (against a surging EWU) than NAU (against a mostly slumping Sac St).

For the All Sports Trophy, which do they count - regular season title or tournament title?

UNI has:

Football (12 time in 20 years winning the Gateway)

Men's Indoor Track & Field (7th year in a row)

Wrestling (won the NCAA West Regional for 21st straight year, UNI has no conference and is independent)

And currently we are leading the conference in Women's Tennis and Baseball, but that can all change.

Man, that is kind of strange considering that we did good in football, and both mens and womens bball finished 21-6 (10-4). Big Sky is getting tougher all the time.

I did read about that WXC/distance runner you guys have. Apparently she's the best in the country. Not often you can say that about a Big Sky athlete.

Congrats NAU! Good luck this week.

Thanks! For the good of the conference, I hope the men's final is NAU-Montana.

Johanna Nilson - Women's X-Country National Champ, favorite at a couple of the distance races.

In the Patriot League so far:
Bucknell-5 (WXCC, WSoc, WS&D, WIndoor Track)
American-3 (MXCC, FH, VB)
Lafayette-2 (FB*, MSoc)
Army-1 (MIndoor Track)
Colgate-1 (FB*)
Navy-1 (MS&D)
*=Co-Championship
I didn't include Regular Season titles in that list

PL BBall titles to be decided this week: WBB is #1-Army v. #2-Holy Cross, MBB is #1-Bucknell v. #2-Holy Cross

M & W Lax, M & W Outdoor Track, Women's Crew, M & W Tennis, Baseball, Softball, and Golf are the PL Spring Sports. Army won the President's Cup for best Athletic Program in 2004-05, but Bucknell has won it 11 times in the 15 years it's been awarded. Army won those other 4.

Colgate also has a Regular Season title from the ECAC for Men's Hockey, while Holy Cross has one from Atlantic Hockey. Lehigh has, I believe, the tournament title of their Wrestling Conference (at least, I think they're in a Conference).

Well, UM beats EWU 73-71 in OT!! I missed that game, I thought it started at 7:00pm. Went to the site, and it was over. Damn! The cool thing is, montanagrizzlies.com is going to air the NAU/Sac State game too. Not that I couldn't find it on NAUs site, but I thought it was cool that it's on the Griz site too.

Good Luck!!! I'll be keeping tabs on it, maybe listening.

NAU beat Sac ST 98-83, so hopefully will be fresher than the Griz.
