Keep this thread alive. Once I get the 2011 schedules done (and all the new stuff for the CSN website), I will work on getting tentative 2012 schedules available.
These two are a good start. I also have tentative 2012 schedules for the Patriot League, and some others. Getting the scheduled FCS vs. FBS games should be relatively easy as well.

All we know for sure is that NDSU is headed to Colorado St. Rest of the OOC schedule hasn't been announced (for that matter, we're still kind of unsure how the conference schedule will work with 10 teams, or at least I am).

NDSU needs two games in 2012 BADLY. We have Colorado State, and then nothing. Preferably we need 2 home games. I'm looking over to you guys in the NEC's direction. You guys interested?? Maybe an OVC team for 200,000 bucks?? We make about 250-300,000 per game in revenue, so we're not shy of stepping up to get a decent guarantee.

I'm almost certain you'll get 1 NEC team on your schedule, but there is no way you guys are paying $200k to an opponent for a home game. I think the NDSU payments to NEC teams was closer to $75k.

Actually, the going rate now is around 125,000 at least. I think that's what we paid for Morgan State (MEAC) last year, and We're paying Lafayette (PL) I think 150 grand for this year. And like I implied, I bet we could offer a higher rate for an OVC team than an NEC one, but maybe 200K is too much, but the days of paying a guarantee of 75K to an NEC team are over. If we get someone like Albany or Monmouth to come to Fargo, you can bet the payment will be at least 125K. An OVC team could be as high as 175K now that I think about it.
I have no idea why the price demand for an NEC guarantee has spiked the past couple of years, but it has for some reason.

The NEC is now an autobid league, and with the number of scholarships increasing maybe they're just holding out for more. That is, they're getting more money because they can.

I imagine they're looking for 1 home game at least, and perhaps an FBS money game if someone is interested

Just to tell everyone, I've started making data for 2012 already and I can have these schedules up embarassingly soon.
I have some of the Southland schedule (thanks TT) and I also have, more or less, the PL schedule as it's known right now. Like I mentioned, I can also secure a good number of the FCS vs. FBS games as well.
Do any other schools or conferences post tentative 2012 schedules?

asks: Are UTSA and Texas State going to be considered FBS teams in 2012, or FCS? I'm almost certain they're both going to be FBS and considered in the WAC, but I wanted to make sure. Also, what about South Alabama? I think they are FCS in 2012.

Nevermind, UTSA and Texas State are in the WAC, and South Alabama will still be transitioning. So USA is an FCS team, but the other two are FBS.

Correct as you said... UTSA and TXST are going to be in the WAC in '12, count towards teams wins for bowls - but neither will be eligible for bowls at that point.

1) Is that schedule still good with TXST out of the league in 2012? I bet there are changes forthcoming - at least, I hope so!
2) McNeese is the way it is because with Lamar in the league as an SLC member, it probably shifted things - which it did.

I get the feeling SLC schedules will be getting some sort of overhaul, but I don't mind putting the schedules up as "tentative" since this it can be done with the best data we have at the moment. There are some UTSA visits to SLC stadiums, for example, that almost certainly will change, but since it's still on UTSA's official schedule, that's what I'm going with for the time being.

The OOC dates had some contracts signed... but yes, the SLC schedules are definitely in for some tinkering. Wonder how this will impact the schools that scheduled late season OOC. SLC may allow those to slide since there will be some flexibility.
The UTSA return trips in '12 are surely in question, if they are visiting SLC venues. I figure they keep their 2011 dates and perhaps some of their 2012 dates, if they are home games.

I could make that easily, we could win it and make some money!!! 2013 away games I'm making for sure: Fresno State, Colorado State, UC Davis and Northern CO. 2015 come hell or high water, I'll be at the ASU game!

Could be a tough road trip....at UND then at Weber St. That Cal Poly game we play in 2012 is between at Sac St, and at Eastern Washington. So both teams will be fighting like crazy to get a win.

Yep. Those are tough back to back road games. I had originally heard that we were going to have to travel to Montana again next year. That would have really sucked!! Glad to hear it's at home.

If Georgia Southern (and VMI, too {Big South}) knows their 2012 Conf. games and dates, they obviously got that from the League office, so one would think EVERY Conf. team has the 2012 master Conf. schedule in hand. It is up to the school's SID office (with "approval" of the A.D.) to make it public.

I believe 1 school just rotates out every year. WIU doesn't play NDSU in 12 or 13. I havent seen anything posted by the league on how it offically works though.

I don't like that we don't play the same team two years in a row. I can see it's because of rotation between home and away games, then you switch the team that you don't face.
I think there should be at least one "rival" school that you play every year no matter what. Kind of like what the Big Sky will be doing.

Delaware and New Hampshire haven't played in the regular season for 4 years now because of the CAA's unbalanced scheduling. A few years back in the A10, UMass and UConn had to play twice in the regular season. I also remember a game where it was a conference game for one team but a non-conference game for the other, can't remember which A10 teams that was though.

If I'm not mistaken, the whole thing arose because the schools out east (Youngstown, Illinois St., WIU, Indiana State, etc.) didn't want to have to travel out west so often and would've blocked allowing USD into the conference if that wasn't honored. So if I interpret it correctly, "west" schools will still play annually (NDSU, SDSU, USD, UNI, maybe even ISUr and Ill. St.) and likewise for "east" schools, but it's those cross-divisional matchups, if you will, that will rotate. Haven't read this anywhere so don't interpret it as fact but that's what I gathered from the talks, at least the parts that were posted in various places.

Didn't Delaware & UNH even play a non-conference game in 2004? Not sure how that came about, but most likely it was due to some common last minute scheduling problem. That was also the debut of redshirt freshman Ricky Santos from deep down the depth chart. Injuries galore, and the rest is history.

So if two teams that didn't meet tied for the league crown, who gets the AQ spot?
Higher rank in the BCS? Haha. Different conferences have different rules. For example, the MEAC:
MEAC Football Tie-Breaker System - FOOTBALL
Two-Team or Multiple-Team Tie – If the tied teams played each other, head-to-head competition will be used to determine the representative.
For Multiple Team Ties – Head-to-head record vs. all teams tied.
If a tie still exists then the following shall be used:
A) Count six (6) points for a win against a Division I-A team;
B) Count four (4) points for a non-conference Division I-AA win;
C) Subtract a point for a loss against a Division II team;
D) Coin Toss
@ The team with the highest point total shall be the Automatic Qualifier for the NCAA Playoffs or the specified Bowl game, whichever is applicable.
(They used to give 1 point for a win vs D2 teams, but several people, most vocally the South Carolina State coach, want the MEAC schools to get away from playing D2 schools. So this past spring they successfully rallied to have that removed, so you can be penalized if you lose but you gain nothing by winning, hoping that teams will be hesitant to schedule D2 schools going forward.)

Absolutely, but my point is the weak schedule. If Lehigh can't replace these guys and have a shot at the league title, it just supports what most of the board has been saying, we are a a second tier program that occasionally has a good team. I am hoping for more.

Lehigh doesn't have a second tier program, their OOC schedules have been fine. I think with the scholarship issue hanging around it made it difficult to schedule for next season.
While next years slate might not be as attractive as some might like it will give a talented, but inexperienced group, time to build up some confidence. With Spadola, Barket and Sherman a long with a solid group of Olinemen returning, the offense should still be pretty good if the QB can hold down the fort. The defense loses a lot but always seems to retool. I can't think of the last time Lehigh had a bad defense.
The team will definitely take a step back but with a manageable schedule 8 wins seems possible.

I don't disagree with your assessment of next year, but with that schedule and 8-3, they must win the league to get in. I would just rather see more CAA games over the Ivy games. I have to agree with most (all) non-Lehigh posters on here that say we have to prove more to be considered with the top tier FCS programs. This years' team might do that, but we do not have the depth to maintain that level.
I will still be there for every game, but I grew up in the years of a lot of Delaware games, along with other Yankee conf games and would prefer we were consistently competing at that level.

Hey, if EKU gets in this year at 7-4, we could get in next year even at 8-3.
EKU had this out OOC
Sat, Sep 3 at Kansas State L 7-10
Sat, Sep 10 Missouri State W 28-24
Sat, Sep 17 Chattanooga L 14-23
I don't see a Chatty in those 3 losses and I certainly don't see a Kansas St on that schedule. It is not just what the record is, we are talking about 8-3 against a pretty weak schedule. Georgetown was hardly in the conversation this year at 8-3? What makes you think that Lehigh gets in at 8-3 playing two Ivy bottom dwellers, two NEC teams and now I see Liberty. 10-1 likely, 9-2, probably, beyond that I just don't see it.
I hope so, but just don't think so.

Current SLC schedules...
http://katfans.com/forum2/index.php?topic=22.msg124
The SLC schedule you have available does not take into consideration changes to the UTSA slate, the updated issue with UCA/UND as well as the fact the SLC slate got reset when TXST left (UCA has not updated their web site, but they don't host TXST, I can assure you that). Other dates within SLC play got moved around in light of TXST departure.
Demon game against Nevada appears to be 9/15.

Disappointing OOC, imo. I know Sterrett tries like hell to get small FBS schools, CAA and SoCon, but very difficult with available dates with some, but mostly others' "need" for payday games with big time programs. I was wondering if with Lembo at Ball State, we might get a game with them, but with him trying to turn that program around, playing an FCS school isn't going to help.
Next year will be interesting. We'll be losing a lot of key players, but will also return a lot of skill people, too. A lot of guys got some good playing time this year in the fourth quarter, so I would think we'll see some very nice surprises next spring.

If you are looking for more television coverage then the ADs at the schools who want exposure should approach ESPN or COMCAST/NBC about doing a national FCS game of the week. Appalachian, Montana, Delaware, ND State, Youngstown State... get the name brands that have won championships of late and do something on the football field akin to what basketball does with Bracketbusters. Too may schedules are built to give paydays and rack up easy wins and fail to address the regionalization of FCS. Most of the schools are in the East and South. Few in the West and Midwest. MVFC v SoCon v Southland v CAA v Big Sky all should take one game a year for this purpose and do a made for TV weekend with the best matchups getting on television. You could get at least 5 games on the air if you juggled the time zones... 11am / 2:30 / 6 / 9:30 / 12a

Bucknell has two open dates: 9/1 and 9/15. Is it fair to assume that West Chester will be on 9/1, and Bucknell is 9/15?
If so, that leaves only two OOC games in question for the PL.

OK. This is what I had from a previous thread on NEC future schedules. :)
As we all know, things can and do change, but...
The Youngstown State talk was in August. Most Duquesne fans would be happy with either Old Dominion or Youngstown State, but YSU is a more attractive opponent since they are "just down the road" from Pittsburgh.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Duquesne's OOC scheduling in 2013 and 2014 when there will be the availability of a 12-game schedule, and the less-than-popular 2-year, home-and-home contract with Valparaiso ends. Will the addition of Rhode Island to the NEC in 2013 create a 9-game NEC schedule?
It appears that Georgetown will take the place of Bucknell as the Patriot League opponent-of-the-year, at least for a year or two. Dayton will probably stay on the schedule into the foreseeable future. Duquesne will continue to seek out opportunities to play full-scholarship programs such as Delaware, Youngstown State, or Old Dominion on a yearly basis. There is also a bit of chatter that Akron could show up on the Dukes' schedule sometime soon. (Don't hold your breath, though!)

What would be very helpful for my schedules is if I have the dates of any future 2012 conference games from any of the conferences. So far I have the Ivy League (complete, including OOC), Big Sky (all conference, most OOCs), and the Patriot (all conference, all but two OOCs). Any others?
I understand the CAA's 2012 conference schedule is not going to be possible, as I don't think they themselves have figured it out yet, but I've got to think others might. I don't feel comfortable just reversing the games from last year (Rhody at Delaware, Savannah State at South Carolina State, etc.).
Also, does anyone have an HBCU Classic schedule for 2012? This would also help, as well as any announced full 2012 schedules I may have missed.

Saw Lehigh's 2012 schedule in the Lafayette game program, and was disappointed with our OOC. Two weak IL opponents and two NEC opponents (though they could be more competitive next year than they were this year).
Certainly, a boring and weak OOC. 2 worst IL , NEC 1 good ,1 weak , Liberty post Brown. Not impressive. Probably by design as I dont anticipate us being a dominant squad next year. Not bad team but we lose too much with this senior class. A winning season will be the goal.

It's not 100%, but all indications from the NEC (and other sources), seem to indicated the league will play a 9-game schedule which would allow teams to schedule 3 non-conf games in both 2013 + 2014 (12-game seasons).
Personally, I would like the league to revaluate the scheduling for 2015 and beyond when we return to a 11-game schedule. By then, who knows, but maybe Maine and UNH are in the league ;)

UNI is the South Dakota opponent. Montana still has openings for three dates with two games needed.
Ask the A.D. - Answers
When will the 2012 UM football schedule be released?
Answer: Currently we are awaiting final confirmation from a couple of schools before we release the schedule - but we expect it to be soon. We can assure you of all but two of the games. Thus far, the Griz will travel to Appalachian State on Sept. 1, Eastern Washington on Sept. 29, Northern Colorado on Oct. 6, North Dakota on Oct. 20 and Weber State on Nov. 3. The home games are: Northern Arizona, Sept. 22 (Homecoming); Southern Utah, Oct. 13, Idaho State, Oct. 27 and Montana State, Nov. 17. The dates for the two remaining games will be either Sept. 8, Sept. 15 and Nov. 10..
What "regular" Big Sky opponents will be missing on the 2012 schedule?
Answer: Schools that the Griz annually play, but will not in 2012 due to the latest conference expansion are: Portland State and Sacramento State - although both will re-appear on the Griz schedule in 2013. Also, two schools who will always appear on the Montana schedule as "rivals" are Eastern Washington and Montana State.

It's frustrating to know that Maine plays Bryant and Albany and BC, but no dates have been announced for all three games (from any of the schools - I checked), so I can't put them on my schedule!
Last I heard, the CAA hasn't announced any conference schedule, even a tentative one. Is that still true?

Certainly, a boring and weak OOC. 2 worst IL , NEC 1 good ,1 weak , Liberty post Brown. Not impressive. Probably by design as I dont anticipate us being a dominant squad next year. Not bad team but we lose too much with this senior class. A winning season will be the goal.
Actually, I think we'll be in the hunt, again, for the PL title. We have a very good core coming back. Yes, we lose a lot of seniors, but a lot of JR and SO saw good time. Plus, we might ahve a medical RS or two return. (Jim Jefferson for one, Pellegrini for two?). Key between just winning PL and returning with a stellar season will be the play at QB. Spring Game will be very interesting.

I think Richmond is correct. I think UTSA is the 9/15 game not the 9/29 game for you guys?

Correct. I think the LFN corrected his post.
BTW, I am hearing we play you guys in Harrisburg, does that align with what you are seeing?

Yes.
I posted this on the CAAZone:
We know JMU will be playing: @ Rhode Island, Towson, W&M, @ Richmond and ODU (all released official schedules)
We know JMU will not be playing: New Hampshire (released schedule) and Delaware (no dates match)
So that means we'll definitely be playing Georgia State, Villanova and Maine. It's almost a certainty Georgia State will be a home game and the other two on the road which makes sense since we hosted Maine and Nova this past season.

I just realized that's wrong. Georgia State is playing W&M on the 29th. For JMU it should be:

Maine is saying they are hosting GSU on 11/10. That would put GSU at JMU on 10/27.

That seems logical, so I'll put that up on my schedules.

Is that confirmed yet though? If you are messing with it I think you have two 9/29 dates for Georgia State. Their game against UTSA is 9/15.

Also, Georgia State will play @ Tennessee on 9/8 (http://blogs.ajc.com/georgia-state-sports/2011/09/13/georgia-state-will-play-tennessee-in-college-football/).

Thanks, whitey, I've fixed both references. I'm keeping Georgia State/JMU in there since there's no other possible date for that game, though unconfirmed.

Cool. I think you're probably right but can't JMU and Georgia State play on 11/10? We don't know for sure that Maine and Georgia State are playing that day. Or maybe I'm missing something?

Anyone word on any schedules today? Particularly, CAA schedules?

I did take a peek, but it doesn't look like there's anything new. I think Maine's schedule might hold the key to the rest of the CAA, once we get theirs, the rest should fall into place.
The question for the Black Bears is mostly where, and when, not who. They play @Boston College, Albany and @Bryant (or maybe @Albany and Bryant, not sure) and then a full CAA schedule.

The where is easy.
Cosgrove said on radio show last night that Maine's 2012 OOC schedule is:
@BC
@Bryant
Albany
The when is up for grabs to some extent.

Yeah........I think that the BC game is what is holding up Maine's schedule.........the whole Pitt/Syracuse thing has delayed the release of the ACC schedules I believe.

LFN, just a minor tweak, UNH @ Holy Cross is on Aug. 30th under the lights. At least according to UNH's official release.
