I remember reading somewhere (probably on E-Griz) that UO had a licensing agreement with Disney for their normal mascot, but it only allows them to sell items in the State of Oregon. I don't know if this is true, but if it is it woudl explain why Oregon wanted a new mascot, but not explain this thing.

You dug up Roboduck. He was introduced at halftime of the USC football game in '02. Rumor was that the athletic department was tired of paying Disney for the use of Donald Duck. They introduced this thing as an experiment to see how the fans would react. The fans HATED this thing. He made a few cameo appearances at b-ball games where he would run onto the court during a break, dunk and then run off before the fans could pelt him with water bottles. He has not been seen for at least two years, maybe more. That is until you found him.

This is old news -- Oregon is not using a new mascot.

That Duck was brought out a couple years ago -- and considering the current Duck just got 2nd in the mascot of the year competition at the national cheerleading competion I dont think he's going anywhere.....that was not a brag by the way.

We will never get a new Duck!

The traditional mascot (above) is the best! I'm anxious to see the three new uniform combinations, along with the other 9 they have used, in 2006. Awesome. Give 'em hell Ducks!

Seriously? They will have a different uniform combo for every game? That's ridiculous, IMHO.

By the way, Donald's "lips" seem to be chapped. Better get him an extra large Chapstick. :D

I like how Oregon used to look, like back in the early nineties when they went to the Rose Bowl. I think it was 1993 or 1995?

I like the original "Duck" logo.

Not only will Oregon have the threads to use a different uniform scheme every game, if they so desired to, they will have 2 additional helmet designs for the 2006 season. Gotta love the Ducks!
