After opening their season by scoring 32 runs in their opening series against UNO, Southern coach Roger Cador wanted the Jaguars to keep swinging the bats Tuesday night at Lee-Hines Field.
They did just that as they piled on 13 hits against a helpless McNeese State pitching staff, leading to a comfortable 8-1 win over the Cowboys.
“It’s good to keep putting the ball in play and keeping the runs going,” Cador said. “We know in the future that we will run into some better pitching and runs will be hard to come by. But, the way they are coming right now, we’ll take them.”
