Stemming from the 2010 season, Bethune-Cookman football's most successful year on record, the Matt Johnson, Coach Brian Jenkins, and the Wildcats have received a heavy share of post-season awards, and justly so. However, over last weekend, Matt Johnson picked up the biggest honor so far at the 100% Wrong Club's 77th Sports Award Banquet for Historically Black Colleges and Universities at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel. Johnson, already named the MEAC Offensive Player of the Year, was presented with the Alonzo S. "Jake" Gaither Award, widely considered the 'Heisman Trophy' of black college athletics.
