Interesting development. Priore's still a developing coach, one who makes as many brilliant moves as he does boneheaded, but I've been a fan since his days undefeated at NESCAC Trinity. Was very excited to see him come in, and in my eyes he hasn't disappointed - raising SBU stock and recruiting profile drastically, especially after the demise of Hofstra.
When did Cincinnati get added to the schedule?
At the moment it would seem that:
2010 South Florida
2011 UTEP and Buffalo
2012 Army
2013 Boston College
?? Cincinnati
SBU making good on its promise of two FBS opponents a year. Given the athletic expenditure it's understandable that SBU would want the payouts. Kind of hoping that the retained coach and aggressive OOC schedules indicate future growth.

He really seems to be doing a good job. It's silly, IMO, that we don't play each other.

Doesn't show up on Cincy's future schedules.

BTW - our game in 2013 got dropped with Cincy......so I wouldn't be surprised if you guys got it instead.

That would make sense. Guess we'll have to wait for an official announcement to be sure.
@Fordham - yes, it's quite silly that we don't play each other, though it's understandable from the same point of view as Hofstra. If Fordham would win, it would have been expected. If we win, it definitely has an effect on the Metro NYC football recruiting landscape - though less so than Hofstra given that Fordham has its own demographic niche.

Same with Colgate. Like Albany, this home and home series would be a natural, especially now that Hofstra has dropped FB. The NYS FCS schools should try to help each other out.
Who knows, mayne we'll all be in another league together....

Couldn't agree more. We are about 50 miles apart so easy travel for the teams and fans. SBU should schedule Columbia one of these days also. I don't like the sudden appearance of d-2 programs on our schedule-with the Rams and Lions in our backyard.
The Cincy game is a surprise also . Then so was UTEP this year.

Thats quite possible but that means Cincy and Boston College in the same year. That would be no easy task. Maybe 2012 matched with Army? We will have to wait. But we are satying on track with 2 FBS/BCS programs per season.

I like the extension and think that Priore is the quality coach to keep SBU climbing the FCS ladder. Looks like they also loaded up on juco transfers this year as well.

I'm happy to see Coach Priore's contract extended through 2016. He is moving the program in the right direction and Im sure we will see a play off berth soon. Looks like a good incoming class also. Through the high school grapevine some of these incoming freshman are top notch - especially the kid from Deer Park. He was highly recruited by FBS and BCS programs.

Great to hear. Looks like the guy from Maryland was a phenom as well. Hopefully he'll be a playmaker for us.
