have reached the 1000 point mark in their career

DJ Thompson became the 27th player in ASU history to do so, and only as a junior

Griz have 21 men's players with 1000+ points, led by current head coach Larry Krystkowiak with 2017.
Griz have 2 more players who may reach this plateau when by the end of their careers:
Matt Martin (so) - 459
Andrew Strait (so) - 689

Lady Griz have 23 players with 1000+ points, led by All-American Shannon Cate with 2172 (leading all Griz basketball players).
Lady Griz have three players on the team who will probably eclipse 1000 points when all is said and done:
Johanna Closson (so) - 400 points
Dana Conway (so) - 299, with 239 of those this season
Mandy Morales (fr) - 291

We just had someone top 1000 so I could tell you...

"BEAUMONT - Chris Jordan scored a career high 30 points to become the 19th player in Sam Houston State men's basketball history to crack the career 1,000 points mark and lead the Bearkats to an 85-82 victory over Lamar Wednesday night."

19 players in Bearkat history...

Don't have a press guide handy, but I believe Ernie Vanderwighe, Bob Duffy, Don Ward, Mike Ferrara, Tucker Neale, Adonal Foyle and Pat Campioleta. That sound about right, Colgate 13?

47, with 6 over 2,000: Kerry Kittles, Keith Herron, Bob Schafer, Doug West, Howard Porter, John Pinone. Allan Ray could join them over 2,000 if we go deep in the Big East and NCAA tournaments, and Randy Foye will be over 1,800.

I don't know how many 1000 point scorers Lehigh has had, not a ton, but I think it interesting that when you think about it, in today's game that is not such a huge achievement. Roughly an average of 10 points/game for four years. Freshman couldn't play until the late70's or so. I know they couldn't play when I was in school(early 70's), so someone who makes that club playing only 3 years is saying something. A 1500-2000 point scorer is something else.

Scott Palaha and Darren Queenen are two certains. Empenhiemer (sp??) is another one i think as well from the late 90's. Two others from the late 80's early 90's would be Mike Krezanski(sp?) and Douzie Mbonuu(sp?).

I think this post from grizband backs up your reasoning greatly:

Griz have 2 more players who may reach this plateau when by the end of their careers:

Perhaps a little could be said for the quality of these Griz players, but I think your assertion of freshmen being allowed to play (look at women's freshman Mandy Morales), and I'll throw in the advent of the shot clock, and we'll all see these numbers rise at a faster rate than in the past.

Coastal has 13. One of those had over 2100 points in four years, and he was Big South POY all 4 years.
We have 1 soph. who now has 911 points after tonights game.

Assuming things go as they normally would, that soph could easily break that 2100 point record.

Here's to him! :beerchug:

I don't follow b-ball that closely, but that's a helluva lot of three-pointers, I don't care who you are!

Oh, the 'old' Engineers had a few--the first was "fast' Eddie Cahn who graduated in the mid-1950's and went on to become Chief Judge of the US Dist. Court of Eastern District of PA, now retired. Bob Fortune '70 was Lehigh's first 'big man' to score 1,000. The seventies were pretty desolate.
