Was Peyton Hillis Subjected to Racism (http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2011/01/21/was-peyton-hillis-subjected-reverse-racism-for-being-a-white-running-back-he-thinks-so/)

Cleveland was dying for a local sports hero to take their minds off of the LeBron James debacle of 2010, and their cries of despair did not go unheeded as a gigantic lumberjack-man/new golden standard for biceps definition named Peyton Hillis stepped out of the shadows. His only obstacle? Racist linebackers!

In response to the author's take on the situation:

What would happen if NFL players started insulting a Black quarterback by saying he's got a room temperature IQ and isn't smart enough to be a quarterback? Would he say it's just a matter of the common practice of NFL players trying to get into each others' heads?

It doesn't matter. If he's effective he's effective and what other players say doesn't matter. But, yes, there is a double standard. People make "racist" comments related to "White" stereotypes all the time and nobody makes a big deal about it. Shocking, I know.

The difference is that Whites generally don't care.
