The season's just a month away (First Pitch Friday is February 18), but for the Ivy League schools it's six weeks away, but still... I'm excited for it!
Fullerton's strength of schedule is rated #1 by College Baseball Mag (a blog) with games at Hawaii, LSU, TCU, Texas A&M, and the Trojan Horses (1 of 3). We also have the Tar Heels, UDub, Arizona State and 2 games of USC at home. Home and home series include: UCLA, Pepperdine, U. San Diego, Loyola Marymount. Wonder who's #2 according to that blog?
Long Beach State.
Harvard has the Beanpot against UMass and (either) Boston College or Northeastern in mid-April and games against current FCS teams Jacksonville State, Wofford, Georgia State, Bryant, (future) Mercer, Charlotte to start the season. Every weekend of April and the first of May is all Ivy play. After winning the division crown, we go on to the ILCS (if we ever get there at all) and the winner of the ILCS gets the very first ticket on the Road to Omaha.

Don't forget the rest of the Big West. UC Irvine, Cal Poly, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UCSB, Pacific, and Northridge...these teams may not be the patsies that some think they are...and don't they factor in to Fullerton's strength of schedule as well?

Had a home and home with TCS last year, dropped both of them, but at least they weren't complete blowouts.
They won't be paying us a trip to San Marcos this year, but we will be traveling up to Fort Worth on May 5.
In fact, Ty Harrington has put together another great schedule this year including a tourney with Air Force, Missouri State & Nebraska, plus other games with Rice, Akron, Baylor, University of Houston (3 game series at home), Missouri, Texas Tech (series tied at 6-6, but Cats have won big the last three years we have played...now if the football team can do something similar this coming fall...).

I have deceided this year that since UNH does not have baseball (which is a true shame) and I feel left out of all the college baseball fun that I am going to pick the next logical team for me to follow and support going forward. I am sticking in state with Dartmouth! The location is close enough where I can make a couple games if I want to and I can get any games picked up on local radio. Also the fact they are in the IVY League was enough for me...If UNH played they would be AE anyways and the quality would not be as high seeing as how there are only 6 teams left if I remember correctly.
Of course, I went to a Division 2 school as an undergrad so I have them. SNHU plays in an exclusively wood bat league that is the Northeast-10; however, they have never had a single winning season. But the bright side is that the campus is 5 minutes from my house so if I find myself with nothing I can make a last minute choice to head over there. I do love the wood-bat league, that is how baseball should be played IMHO.
I generally back up in state schools regardless of level when it comes to the NCAA's so it seems natural to me to back up the only Division 1 baseball team in state...Go Dartmouth!

Fullerton split today's games. We fought till the end against UNC but lost to them in 11 innings, 4-3. During the 8th inning, a rain delay occurred. We beat the Dirtbags 2-1 in the nightcap. Another rain delay occurred during that game.

Tight game. Fullerton's pitcher struggled early, but TCU could only push 2 runs across. They got one back in the 5th, but TCU pulled it back to 3-1 in the 6th. CSF threatened in the 7th and 8th, but TCU's pitching got out of it.

Bucknell, the defending Patriot League Tournament champion opened last weekend 0-4 at James Madison, a series in which the two teams' bats combined for 127 runs in a four games series (JMU 37-7, 9-2, 26-15, 19-12).
This weekend, in a three game series, the Bison dropped to 0-5 on Friday, losing at Richmond 4-2, before taking their first two wins from the Spiders, 5-3, 4-3. I expect that the Bucknell pitching staff will have a way to go still in repairing ERAs, but several pitchers did post 0.00 sessions during the weekend.
Bucknell (2-5) will complete its 11-game, three weekend tour of FCS campuses in Virginia with a four game series starting Friday at Lexington with the Keydets of VMI.
The Bison will not play at home until a March 23rd contest with Mount St. Mary's, a tilt which will debut further improvements at Depew Field. A year after adding Field Turf, new brick dugouts and a 'state-of-the-art' scoreboard now grace the former pastures of West Campus. ( I assume this means they'll be using something other than the fat chalk on black slate.)

Good win, but still doesn't change the fact that our coach is mediocre. We recruit entirely too many JUCO players, and the years we do well are when a perfect storm of a senior-laden high school recruited team comes together, aka 2009. GSU should be in a regional every single year with the facilities we have and the recruiting base.

Fullerton has a balance of both high school-recruited (some were drafted by MLB teams out of high school) and JUCO players (some were also drafted as well). Our class is consistently in the top 10 each year.
Were your team's players also drafted before?

I sure hope so. The rpi has us at 49 at the moment and the SOS was in the mid 30's before playing the likes of Davidson.
Two and done for the tournament in a league that is down from traditional mid major prominence may hurt. Along with the RPI, Elon is (I think) tied for 9th in the nation with most road wins. Hopefully that will help. I am a little worried though. That 20 inning game with WCU obviously took its toll!
