A shame... a kid on a conference championship game winning program, who also had a GPA of over a 3.0. They are trying to determine now if they are linked to other crimes.
We'll let the justice system play out... but this kid was a transfer from Univ of Houston...
A Texas Southern University linebacker — once an all-state player at Aldine High who signed with the University of Houston in 2008 — was among five young men charged on Friday with burglarizing a north-side home of rifles, electronics and jewelry.
Detectives are investigating whether any of the men charged in the case — one of whom was armed — might be linked to other crimes in the Houston area, said Harris County Precinct 4 Assistant Chief Mark Herman.
Anthony James Lewis Jr., described by TSU head football coach Johnnie Cole as an honor student with a 3.1 GPA and a developing linebacker who played three games and recorded five tackles this season, was arrested at the scene in the 20200 block of Wallstone Court at around 10 a.m.
