It was bound to happen and this was an offer too good to pass up. I never thought Golden was the top candidate to replace Joepa and i believe he felt the same way. Obviouly this is big loss for Temple football but i believe we've gotten to the point where we can attract a great up and coming coach.

Will one of Al's assistants get the Temple job?

Al doesn't seem like a Miami guy, but he is a tremendous football coach. The Canes made their name by recruiting South Florida and Pa/Ohio. They used to supplement their recruiting in the "state of Miami" with guys like Jim Kelly and Bernie Kosar who were looking to flee the rust belt. First and foremost Golden needs to lock down South Florida, and look into the NE when needed. He is a great x's and o's coach and understands how to run the program. If he can attract the talent they will be a force once again.

Too good an opportunity to pass up. I feel bad for Shannon. He did a decent job cleaning up the joint and even had a winning record this year, only to get tossed. "Big Time" football...don't ya just love it.
