Coastal Carolina sophmore JACK LEASURE is the best 3-point shooter in the country as of 2/19/06.

Last I checked, it was Chris Lofton of Tennessee...shooting 47.7% with 4 makes every 8.4 attempts...in 23 games...

And FYI, every year, some guy from a low or mid-major leads categories. Always makes me wonder how they'd do in a different conference...

Oh and Leasure sure shoots a load of threes. 10.4 attempts per game and makes 4.4? Averaging 42.6, eh? He take any other shots?

He shoots the three more than anything else, he will drive for a jump shot every now and then. He basically came out as a one-man team this year but then teams started to key on him and his stats went way down along with our record. Then Buzz finally figured out the right combination of guys to help spread the floor. But Jack pretty much seems to be stationed at the arc so he can shoot or pass inside.

Still 42% isn't too bad - as of last week he was about 30th in the country at 3 point %. Unless something major happens, he'll be leading the country in 3 pointers made this week.

Well, JJ is the new record holder for points scored at Duke, so I think he'll take that instead

Jack is the new Coastal Carolina and Big South Conference record holder for most 3PT-FGs made in a single regular season with 118. He's a sophomore. I believe JJ Redick made something like 100 3PT-FGs his Soph. season.

Regardless, the "Rochester Rifle" (as he was referred to in a recent article) is a damn fine player.
