Am I the only one that has noticed this? I've seen this several times throughout the year while doing my reading up for I-AA information. This particular one comes from Boston University's basketball release.

Since when did someone try to compare RPIs of I-AA "leagues" and what justifies a I-AA league? Does the SLC count as an "I-AA league". We do have ULM who plays I-A football and of course, several non I-AA football playing schools. What does this mean for a Georgetown? They are I-AA in football, but play in the Big East, a Div I-A football conference, for everything else.

Someone needs to drop an e-mail to this SID or something. Someone has a fundamental misunderstanding what I-AA and I-A is all about...or do I just not know something? I know the whole I-A, I-AA and I-AAA classifications for how schools are recognized, but this makes no sense to me...

"America East moved up one spot this week to 11th in The Collegiate Basketball News Women's RPI Report and now ranks third among I-AA conferences. Only the Colonial (eighth) and Atlantic 10 (10th) are higher ranking I-AA leagues. America East has never finished as high as 11th in the final RPI for a season and never as high as third among I-AA Conferences. America East boasts three teams with RPIs in the top 100 with Hartford (46) and Boston University (84) just behind the Seawolves."

http://goseawolves.collegesports.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/021706aaa.htmlIt's really simple and should be learned by folks in SID 101. College football is the biggest sport on campus. Since it is so big and varied in D-I the NCAA split it into two subclassifications, I-A and I-AA (I-AAA is for D-I schools that don't sponsor football). EVERYTHING ELSE IS D-I/II/III. Football is twice as big as basketball and basketball is 100+ times bigger than anything else. Please write these folks a simple note to remind them when they err, I did. The AE does not even offer I-AA, neither does the Colonial.

I don't think divisional differences are brought up for basketball like they are football in SID 101. You should write in and see if you can get in on a panel discussion and be like :nono:
