Official release... figure the state of Alabama (or at least most of it that is Auburn Tiger fans) will celebrate Dec. 1 for the rest of eternity!

So Newton turns down $180K to play at Auburn for free. The NCAA is a joke. If this was a non SEC team, the hammer would have dropped.

All I've heard is news of his REINSTATEMENT. When was he ruled ineligible?? I completely missed this. I feel like I keep up with sport news on a daily basis. I slept through a day this week?
Someone please explain. I've been thoroughly confused all week.

Short answer: Auburn suspended him officially on Monday, the NCAA reinstated him on Tuesday, and all of this was announced on Wednesday. Make of that what you will...
