I don't know if anyone will ever be good enough for IU
Your thoughts?

I think he is getting a raw deal. Indiana has a good coach who has almost as many trips to the final 4 and NC game as Roy Williams!

agreed, as much as they complain about Bobby Knight, they sure do compare all of their coaches to him........

Pat Forde called him a "...small town Alabama native with a stutter..." in that article. That statement alone is why I know he will be better off somewhere else. Indiana never appreciated him, nor did they think he was intelligent enough, competent enough, or dare I say, white enough, to coach that team. Mike Davis is too nice of a guy to tell them where they can stick their job, so he will take the high road, resign, and move on to another job. Good luck to him.

A rumor I have been hearing on this is Mike Davis is going to get the Missouri job, Ind. will get their favorite son Steve Alford back and UNI's coach will be headed to Iowa City. Now this is all rumors but Iowa's AD is the former AD at UNI.

I don't really think it was the IU fans that had a problem w/Bobby Knight it was the administration, so I can see why they would have a problem w/any coach but him. That being said I still think Mike Davis got the shaft at IU. The Hampton fan was probably right that he isn't white enough to coach Indiana. I bet he moves on though & is successful whereever he goes.

Any time you follow a legend, you are in a no-win situation. Coach Davis will land on his feet, and get another D-I job.

What kind of record did he have? Is this the same guy that played for Alabama-Tuscaloosa years ago?

The real question is: Did Mike Davis in fact fire Indiana?
I think we might see him end up at Mizzou, Cinci, USF or even Rutgers.
I hope he finds a good home somewhere. He may wear his emotions on his sleeve but he did it well.

Zook did hook in a decent recruiting class this year to Champaign, though. I'd also rather see them have success then the traditional powers of that conference.

Davis got a raw deal at IU. Many never gave him a chance from the beginning. Similar to the guy who followed Spurrier at Florida. They were ready to run him out before he even got started.

JMU lost to second-year DI Longwood today. It is probably the most embarrassing loss in the history of JMU men's basketball program. Longwood lost earlier this season to Savannah State which is ESPN's #1 in the Bottom 10 Poll. JMU needs to bring in a nationally-recognized head coach to resurrect its men's basketball program. The administration should try its best.
MIKE DAVIS, COME TO JMU!
