Kurn and Smith named PFL Players of the Week

Two USD football players have been recognized as players of the week for their outstanding performance in USD's season-ending 29-15 road win over Davidson this past Saturday. Junior defensive end Mario Kurn (Encinitas, CA) was named the Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week, as well as a The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS National Player of the Week, and the National Defensive Lineman of the Week by College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Senior receiver Godfrey Smith (Oakland, CA) was tabbed the PFL Offensive Player of the Week, along with being named a National Wide Receiver of the Week by CFPA.
