Well, what an interesting night. Earlier this afternoon there was a 4 way tie for first place with UNI, Wichita State, Creighton, and SIU all at 11-4. Things have changed.

UNI lost a point game against last place Indiana State in Terre Haute. Ouch!

Wichita State beat Creighton by one point in overtime.

Southern Illinois lost to Bradley by 12 in Peoria.

The MVC has one leader, the Shockers of Wichita State. Is UNI (21-6)destroying its season by having back to back losses. Can SIU still make the dance? And should we just give the conference title to Wichita State?

Either way, a frustrating day to be a MVC fan, that is for sure!

I think when all is said & done 4 MVC teams will still be dancing. The so called power conferences just don't have enough legit tourney teams this year. The interesting thing is that SIU could be playing their way out, while Missouri St. is suddenly looking like a very real tourney team. I would love to see you guys get 5 in but that might be asking too much.

I would say Wichita State is definitely in the driver's seat right now with the easiest conference games remaining of any contender. If they win the regular season title, they'll get an at-large no matter what happens against George Mason. Northern Iowa against Southern Illinois and Creighton/Missouri St to close the regular season with both be huge games. Any of those teams that slides late will be in trouble and need to win a couple of games in what promises to be an unbelievable MVC tourney. 3 teams is a lock, 4 is possible and 5 still has an outside shot.

Bracket Buster Saturday is going to be enormous for the conference. Any wins will be a nice boost, especially Northern Iowa over Bucknell. Should be a lot of fun.

There are already alot of people talking about the MVC, so getting 5 may not be as hard as you think. Althought, all of these teams will most likely be seeded 7-12 or so
