For years, the Cornell and Columbia matchup has been unofficially called the "Empire State Bowl" by fans. Now, after the teams have played for nearly 125 years, this season's contest will be played with the official Empire State Bowl moniker. Columbia will host the first trophy game between the teams when the Big Red visits Robert K. Kraft Field at Wien Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 12:30 p.m. The winner of Saturday's game will take the traveling trophy, which will be presented annually to the winner of the game. This is the 97th meeting between the two teams, marking the 12th most-played rivalry in college football.
