Today the Eagles signed Colt Anderson off Minnesota's practice squad. Under NFL rules, Anderson must remain on the 53-man roster for at least three weeks.

The Eagles have only three active safeties and the starting FS, Nate Allen, sustained a concussion last week vs Indianapolis. That means Anderson probably will be activated and play on special teams, at minimum, in the Eagles' nationally-televised Monday night game in Washington.

Nate Allen was the guy the Eagles wound up drafting in the Donovan McNabb trade. Allen picked off McNabb in the first game this year. Who knows - maybe Anderson will get the opportunity to do the same thing.

I recall Anderson as being a very good player at the FCS level. We'll see if he as the skills to play in the Eagles' complicated defensive scheme.
