First time I've heard of this...

Kye Allums, a junior at George Washington University, made history on Monday as the first openly transgender male ever to play on a DI basketball team.

In spite of the revelation, and the fact that Allums has identified as a male since his sophomore year at the university, he is physically and biologically female and therefore will continue to play for the women’s team. Allums will also be eligible to retain his scholarship

In a magazine article, Allums said he was surprised by the support of his team, which he said remains like a family to him. Coach Mike Bozeman said he and the entire basketball program are in support of Allums’ decision.

Ok, have been confused until I found another article.

Is a woman, just being called a man. Not really a change yet. If the male hormones have been started that would be of concern to a fair playing field.
