I know there are several White Sox fans around here, to whom this might come as interesting news...

CHICAGO -- Manager Ozzie Guillen will not be with the Chicago White Sox when the World Series champions visit the White House on Monday.

Chicago mayor Richard Daley, a longtime White Sox fan, said earlier in the week he was "disappointed" by Guillen's decision to skip the celebratory trip to Washington. However, Guillen is with his family on a vacation that was arranged before the date of the White House visit was set.

The time demands placed on those in pro sports have ruined many families. I have to applaud Guillen for showing us his priorities are in the right place. This is quite a statement.

:hurray:

The time demands come with boatloads of cash, which also set up these families for life (unless they're idiots).
It's not the time demands that ruins families. It's the idiot athletes who can't keep their d*ck in their pants when they're away from their spouses....

Even so, I agree with Guillen's decision.
