I know there are several White Sox fans around here, to whom this might come as interesting news...
CHICAGO -- Manager Ozzie Guillen will not be with the Chicago White Sox when the World Series champions visit the White House on Monday.
Chicago mayor Richard Daley, a longtime White Sox fan, said earlier in the week he was "disappointed" by Guillen's decision to skip the celebratory trip to Washington. However, Guillen is with his family on a vacation that was arranged before the date of the White House visit was set.
The time demands placed on those in pro sports have ruined many families. I have to applaud Guillen for showing us his priorities are in the right place. This is quite a statement.
