Just to clarify, these are numbers for D-I basketball teams from schools that also participate in I-AA football.

I'm confused... does the Sun Belt have an autobid?

WKU needs to move up a bit to have a realistic shot at an at large - it probably cuts off with autobids and the like at about 40. Given that they aren't being mentioned in ESPN's bubble watch, that doesn't bode very well...

The Sun Belt gets an autobid. In the unlikely event that WKU does not win the conference tournament, then an at-large bid is a possibility. They are definitely NIT eligible. They are certainly a team that no power or major conference school should ignore.

Western Kentucky's talent in basketball just further makes one wonder how incredibly awesome the MVC would be if they would ask you to join. That would be one strong ass "mid-major."

Absolutely.......

Considering that WKU lost to Bradley earlier in the year, can WKU compete regularly against teams like Wichita State, SIU, UNI, Creighton, or Missouri State each and every night though. We definitely can compete, but would we win those games?

The MVC ends up getting 4 teams in the dance and the power conferences will be dazed and confused by next Sunday.

Hey, but Bradley is one of those four or five teams getting in (most likely). I'm sure WKU could take Evansville, Drake, Indiana State, and Illinois State. Bradley beat my Panthers by over 20 in Cedar Falls, a loss to Bradley is not bad at all. I am positive WKU could fight for the top half of the MVC!

On the women's side however, WKU can definitely be at least 3rd in the standings possibly even win the whole thing..... I am telling you the women's team is THAT good.
