NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Trailing 31-7 at halftime, Columbia scored 21 straight points in the second half and had the football in a one-possession game with more than four minutes left in the fourth quarter. Taking the ball in the shadow of their own end zone, the Lions moved the ball to midfield but were unable to convert on a fourth and long opportunity as Yale escaped with a 31-28 win at Yale Bowl on a crisp Saturday afternoon.
