It is finished! It will be quite the task going in to Boone in 2006. As the game will be the Mountaineers' first home game since their national championship, the festivities will hopefully motivate the Dukes to get back to the playoffs and eventually the national championship.

It is bound to be the I-AA Game of the Week for that specific week. Maybe even the I-AA 2006 Game of the Year?

Good point, and highly likely for at least one of those honors.

Well actually Delaware hosts West Chester that day too. :splat:
I'm glad to see a match-up between ASU & JMU, it should answer a lot of early season questions.
I can't believe JMU joined the rest of the world & has finished future years schedules in advance.

Good for JMU - imagine that, schedule's already set for several years ahead? What a concept! All jokes aside, it's also good for the A10/SoCon matchup - this is one of those where you have two legitimate good teams playing each other. It beats the occassions where you have one strong team from one conference playing a relative weaker team from the other conference - that never tells alot. But this continues a trend that we've seen some of (UD/GSU, Hofstra/Furman, JMU/App St now, UD/Furman in a few years - sorry if I missed any others) lately and can only be a good thing IMO.

Not so fast. In April, the D-I Board of Directors will consider adding a 12th regular game for I-AA teams effective September 2006.! JMU and everyone else may be scrambling for games in a couple of weeks.

Yes but if everyone is scrambling then you have more options.
JMU has had trouble because just about everyone has had their schedules filled and they are still looking for 2 or 3 games.

I'm happy because UVA plays AT Florida State on November 4th, allowing me to perhaps drive home to Harrisonburg to see the Blue Hens come to town. All I can say is that if the game is anything like the last time Delaware came to town, it will be well worth the trip.

What does UVA getting their @ss kicked in Tallahassee have to do with JMU football?

JMU has put together a solid 2006 schedule. A very tough stretch IMO @UNH, W&M, @UR, UD. Those five teams (JMU inclusive) should all compete for the playoffs. I love that JMU and ASU could hook up. Always great to have the 2 most recent NC playing each other.

It will be quite a challenge but it is my opinion that challenging opponents will make the difference down the stretch.
Also, it will be interesting facing the 2005 and 2003 national champions in the same regular season after being the 2004 national champions.

Anyone have 9/16/06 open? JMU might elect to keep 11 games unless they can schedule a I-AA to come to Harrisonburg by paying them like how JMU brought Delaware State to Harrisonburg in 2005.
