DALLAS – Alongside some of the top student-athletes in college football today, Columbia senior linebacker Alex Gross is one of 16 members of the 2010 National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete class, it was announced Thursday morning by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Gross holds a 3.58 cumulative grade point average and is on track to graduate from Columbia College in May 2011 with a degree in sociology. A first team All-Ivy League honoree in 2008, Gross is having another first team All-Ivy League season this year. He currently leads the Ivy Leauge in tackles and was named the league's defensive player of the week earlier this month. In 2007, Gross was the Ivy League's Rookie of the Year.
