I predict a ratings disaster

Maybe. The Giants haven't been there in a while, the Rangers are in for the very first time.

Can't wait for it to get started! It probably will get poor ratings, but if people can't get excited about Lincecum vs. Lee, well, that's their loss.

I don't know if you can say it will be a ratings disaster quite yet...The Rangers are more exciting then you may give them credit for and the Giants have a very dedicated fan base. I think a lot of baseball folks will look forward to this matchup. I know I am pretty excited, I really hope the Rangers can finish off what they have started...

Either the Rangers win their first World Championship or the Giants will break their 55 year? drought dating back to their days in Brooklyn...that is exciting!

When were the Giants in Brooklyn. If I remember correctly, the Polo Grounds were technically in Manhatten

Another great pitching matchup to start this series - Lee vs Lincecum! Couldn't have asked for a better turnaround, and season, from this Giants team!

Giants win 11-7. xnonono2x 6 runs in the 5th inning proved to be the difference.

I think most baseball fans will appreciate the series. The Giants will have a great deal of the west coast and its not as though Texas is particularly a small market.

I continue to say that if Fox would change up the broadcast booth they'd improve their ratings drastically. The only thing worse than Tim McCarver is Joe Morgan.

It would be easier to appreciate if Vlad Guerrero weren't playing in the field. xrotatehx

That aside, I totally agree; there's a lot to like about this series. Not rooting for either team, just hoping it goes seven!

I am pulling for Texas. Any team that knocks out the Rays and Yankees is a team I will have respect for.

Rangers can go out there tonight and tie this thing up!

If the American League would go back to playing baseball the way it was meant to be played, some of these aging stars would have to play defense or be sent out to pasture. :)

Joking aside, Vlad has always been one of my absolute favorites. I remember watching him with the Expos when he could put a frozen rope from the warning track to home. Guy had one of the best arms I've ever seen.

I do appreciate that the two teams play by one another's rules in the opposing ball parks. The AL team has to abide either sitting their DH, or forcing him to play the field and potentially giving away runs. In the AL park, the NL team won't have the defenseless slugger taking up a bench seat and will likely have to put some utility player in as the DH.

So far the ratings are better than 2008, Philly vs Tampa Bay. NY Yankees and Boston are the big draws for the TV markets.

Being I'm moving to the Bay area, and even attended a Giants game at AT&T this year, I'm pulling for the Giants

I think we are starting to see the gradual shift of power move to the National League.

I was rooting for more baseball, but it was nice to see the season end with a pretty good pitchers' duel. Congrats Giants!
