If the Cocks hold on, do they have a chance to move up to No. 2 in the country or does a one-loss CAA team jump them?

I've said it a million times here - SHU is much better than their record.
They lost to RMU by 4 points in Week 2.
They had 7 turnovers in that ugly loss to St. Francis.
They missed a last second FG to drop another close one at Dartmouth.
They played well despite 3 straight conference losses to CCSU, Bryant, and Duquesne
ace your reasoning against st francis would then mean that GU had 5 turnovers today in an ugly loss and should have beat you!! sorry but you can't have it bothe ways

yea if they win out I cant see them being any lower than the 3...and could be higher than that. If ASU runs the table and then losses to Florida, it will be interesting to see how far they drop (assuming they would). That is one of the disadvantages of playing a FBS game at the end of the season, no time to work your way back up in the polls.

I think a top 4 seed assuming they win out is guaranteed. I don't know about #2, because I think I might have to put William and Mary at #2. Close though.
If App runs the table in the FCS I will be pretty disappointed if they aren't a top 2 seed. They could have the same exact resume but if that FBS loss came at the beginning of the season they'd be #2 easily, possibly even #1.

That was my thought as well, that W&M and Delaware might just swap places. If the Tribe does get to No. 2, I don't think it will stay there. The next three weeks: AT FBS North Carolina, AT No. 10 New Hampshire, AT No. 11 James Madison. W&M could very well go 1-2 over that stretch and even with the JMU loss today, 0-3 isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Certainly not out of the realm of possibility, but not likely. A loss to UNC should not penalize W&M too much, and I'm expecting them to split the other two, hoping to win both. IMO it will be ridiculous if they are not #2 this week given how they are playing at this point. They've beaten #1/2 twice in the past month!
This W&M team has shown a tremendous amount of depth and resiliency this year, and the defense knows how to turn it on when it counts. They are not as flashy and shut down as last year, but they're getting the job done! xnodx
